I'm gonna target trevally when it warms up a bit, what hardbodies and soft plastics have you guys had success on? I'll be going for small GTs in rivers and creeks, what should I expect as by-catch?
Cheers,
Kaidon

any small popper should do the trick. if theyre feeding on bait schools try to match lure size to what they're feeding on. if the bait is up top rippling the surface cast to the edges of the school. don't cast into the middle as you might spook them. Tailor will also take a popper if they're around
Storm chug bugs or River to Sea bubble pops are the go
mann's 5+ in pink can also put some runs on the board with the chug bugs, sammys and raiders or flasha spoons.
I asked this not long ago and ended up with some natural looking poppers about 6-7cm. I made a thread with my catch check it out.
i know it doesnt really answer your question in regards to lures but i've had a lot of success on live herring in the canals.
if you have a cast net its well worth the effort.
Thanks guys, I'll be getting into them as soon as I can.
And Maxi, I fish live herring and mullet around here a lot, but I love lures, just for the hit you feel as the fish attacks it.
