Just wanted to confirm the Scoopon operation is REAL and acts as an agent for businesses wanting to aggressively promote a product. I am getting a two night midweek accommodation deal with a wine tour ready for my property (Camelot) on Tamborine Mountain ready to launch in the next two weeks at an absurd price, so I know how the process works.

HOWEVER, these Scoopon guys set the deal up as follows:
1. Scoopon only act as a promotion agent between the public buyers and the vendor (Discovery of whoever) so if Discovery fall over/receivorship or cant do the business you have no claim on Scoopon.
2. Scoopon pass over all the Scoopon purchasers Name & Address lists PLUS all the money less their commission within 48 hours of the deal closing on Scoopon
3. Scoopon EXPECT a 20%+ drop out rate i.e. people not able to or forgetting to use their coupons in the time period or under the exact terms and conditions set. YOU DO NOT GET OR ARE ENTITLED TO YOUR MONEY BACK if for some reason YOU have to cancel!!! {Unsure what happens if the skipper cancels at the last minute for bad weather - probably allows you to rebook.}

So basically I would recommend you book early to make sure that there is no shortage of seats at the last minute. Work it out for yourselves a 12 seat charter boat with about 130 - 140 days of fishing (weather wise) over 6 months doesn't leave ANY MARGIN for underbooking if they sell their 1500 spots on Scoopon.

Thats why, with our Mt Tamborine accommodation/wine deal coming up in a couple of weeks time, we are maximising the sale of scoopons to only 200 clients over 6 months AND all booking MUST be made within 4 weeks of the deal closing to ENSURE we can get everyone in.

We still think Scoopon is a good deal overall but if I had one of the 1500 fishing couplons with Discovery I would be booking up NOW!
