    neoprene waders

I need to get a new set of waders. I am looking at the new Snowbee granite neoprenes. The tackle shops rave about them but what does that mean.Anyone used them? The pricing is between $185 - $229 depending on where .

    Dudley,

I have had waders since I as 10 years old. Up until last year I had always purchased PVC. I then bought a pair of Fly and Dry.

What the hell was I thinking for the last 27 years. Neoprene is sooo much more comfortable. They feel light weight. They don't sweat. You can walk long distances in them - like bushwalk.

Depends how often you use then and what you're using then for but I'm converted.

I have some for fishing down in Vic, will certainly keep you warm. I also have a set of the cheap plastic waders for bait collection & loading the baot (again in the cooler months). If you are going to spend a long time in the waders, I have found the breathable waders the best with the sock foot & a separate pair of wading boots/shoes.

    Some questions to help decide:

    • how long do you wear them each time out?
    • what sort of terrain will you be using them in?
    • are they to keep you warm or dry or both?
    • do you want boots on them or separate?
    • do you need chest high or thigh waders?
might help you decide what to get. JMO

Thanks guys. i have patched the pvc ones i have got for use at bait collection.I will wear them 3-5 hrs when fishing. they are essentially to keep me dry so it will be chest waders.body warmth is also a consideration as winter fishing can be 3degrees or less. The flexibility is also important . i guess that this all leans to buying the waders.
