It's a very nice rod, it does have plenty of fighting power. The combo goes well together, I never felt like I was going to be let down by it. That said, I wish the butt was a bit shorter, it's just a tad too long.

    nice fish

    Heretic.
I've only ever caught the one jack on a lure, on a 4 or 5" flick bait. All of the others have been on either live or dead bait. I agree, any lure caught fish is more satisfying.

    Well done Matt,

Nice mangrove jack for this time of year, they are dirty fighters as you know, good to see you got the better of it.

    Great chewing too.

Mate, even IF the water was at the back door I'd be lucky to get out for a fish. Kids sport has hit the finals and I'm on painting and repair duties the rest of the time. Hopefully get up you way next month so I'll give you a call.

Cheers mate.. Owing to the sandy bottom I wasn't tooooo concerned about losing it.

That's life I guess... Sounds good, last Sept was a good month for fishing if I recall.

Cheers mate I'm spending more time on the lures these days, should have a fish some time.. I'm keen to explore areas I've never really fished (Noosa, caloundra, Mooloola to an extent).
