Monday's Tweed Daily News went pretty hard on Saturday's fishing rally at the Tweed.
It was front page and again on page 3 and page 5.
You can read the articles and add a comment here:

There's also a poll on the same page that has 53% of people so far in favour of a Marine Park off Tweed.
Brett
i dont know if i should laugh or cry at some of those comments to the article. he shouldnt have been there !!!! but he got the result he was after by the looks of it and fishos are made to look like thugs. good luck up there guys as you do have some huge restrictions planned if the greens get their way.
54% against...........looks like the greens tosser has their minions voting hard. Get into it boys and vote against the marine park and post away. The more the merrier that's for sure.
Cheers,
Chris
Woohooo, small mercies but the against is at 63% this morning and for is 36%. Only problem is that only makes 99% and there is no other option. {will have to ask Mrs4x4 how that happens as she is in research}
Read article and made a couple of comments. Hows the guy 'dingdong''s form. Claims he's a fisho then says he will vote Green, he is fooling no-one, especially when he claims they are the only ones supporting fishing views.
I wonder just who it is as he also claims the fishos there were hired thugs.
it's a shame the local Labor candidate didn't turn up. I read an article where the seat of Richmond has the greens polling ahead of the nationals for the first time (behind Labor and LNP). I've spoke to plenty of people who are throwing protest votes to the greens as they hate both major parties now.
It's a pity all these people are falling for the clever green marketing strategy of the 'alternative' voice without knowing what 'alternatives' they're actually voting for.

Against now at 68%!
Why shouldn't he have been there? He is part of the problem why wouldn't you want to let him speak and debate with him? Seem like Kieth Douglas is the only one who should have been there as he seems to be the only one with a clue.
And fishos are the only ones who can make themselves look like thugs.
edit... now at 69%
for that rally he wasnt invited and when he did turn up he was asked to leave, he should have left then but saw a chance for good press for himself.
why wouldnt i want him there to let him speak and debate with him ? thats not my choice to make, the organisers could answer that i guess
the thug comment, well i guess anyone faced with lossing there legal profession because of dodgey science and politics is capable of getting agro. i know i would if some idiot wanted to close down my business
all just my opinion
I think the problem with him turning up is an old tactic in politics.
One group want's to promote their cause in a public forum.
The other turn's up and creat's a diversion away fron the real issue.
Shame on the Greens who use their moral high ground and then resort to these tactic's.
and now the Greens are siding with the farmersin the Surat Basin against coal seam gas exploration.
AMAZING..I don't recall any Greens being around when Colley Cotton moved in in those areas..and we all know how fantastic cotton farming is to the environment.
I have read the Green Manifesto, and their policies. Why would I want to hear him "debate" when that is one of the rights he ultimately wants to take away from me? I already know what he stands for, and that is one of the reasons I went to the rally.
No, if you are not invited, you do not attend. Same reason I didn't go to the walk against Global Warming. I disagree with them, but they have the right to march unfettered.

Carbon Really Ain't Pollution.
71% against now keep them comming.
I hate seeing posts on fishing sites assuming (on behalf of everybody else) that they know what’s best for rec fishing, fish, and fellow fishers in terms of what side of politics has got the best deal ! Also greenie /Green bashing, assumption being that no fellow fishers consider themself greenies or vote Green therefore won't be offended by it or if they are they're 'just bloody greenies, Green supporters anyway.. etc etc"
I've been a fisher since I was 4 yrs old (if you think I'm a BS one , I'm happy to compare skills with whoever), and a greenie just about as long, and vote Green most Federal elections ever since I could - and Guess what, there's plenty more like me!
Go the Greens!!, the only Party genuinely committed to the future of this country our grandchildren and the world !
