Great Catch, thats a classic.
Reminds me of a crabbing trip up north about 20 years ago, where we interspersed some drinking with some crabbing. Casting the net to get some more crab bait, one bloke caught a 60cm barra.....
Me and the misses went for a cast net today to get some mullet for tonights Jew fishing session. We didn't manage to get any decent sized mullet but to our surprise when I pulled in the net after a random cast I did manage to find this 50ish cm Jack with his teeth firmly clenched on my net. Fingers crossed it is a good omen for how good our fishing will go for our Jew session tonight!

That's one very unlucky MJ. Nice by catch though.
arse, pure arse, nice work though!!
pure arse...but you wouldn't knock it back!!!! beautiful colour!
GOod luck with the jew!
since it was caught in a cast net, are you going to use it for live bait?
Geez I bet it mad a mess of the cast net.
If that is the size of the live bait, how big are the Jew?
you went all the way to currumbin creek just to cast net some mullet? because surely you wouldn't admit to breaking the law on the internet by cast netting in NSW.
Yeah I went down to the lakes at Palmy actually, I live on a boat in the Tweed and definitly wouldnt risk losing it and all my gear for netting in nsw...
We didnt get any good Jew that night but managed a couple of Big eye trevor's and some good Tailor though..
ah 19th ave aye? nice..... i've been doing most of my jew chasing down at Brunswick and Ballina. have been getting pretty consistent catches too. between 3 of us over the last few weeks we have been averaging 8-10 per session we only ever keep 1 schoolie each though. getting them on plastics is much more fun, they hit so much harder.
you lucky bastard what type of cast net were you using ?
is time to go fishing yet
I was just using a small standard mono net, he only had his head in there I was just lucky he decided to bite it and not let go!!!
