Iron Jaw
Have caught my first Iron jaw / Rusty jobfish just wanted to know if they are good eating, I did bleed it as was suggested by the deckie but I have never seen or heard of before, just after some fed back etc, it was just over 1200mm long.

Mate, that's a monster, the're excelant eating, firm white flesh, lightly flour the fillets and shallow fry.
I'd be intersted if anyone's seen one bigger that 1.2m most are a lot smaller

There`s heaps of different types of jobbies but the steel jaw or rusty or whatever they refer to them as are pretty good on the chew. hook in. Cheers Andrew

Re: Iron Jaw
Cought on a Mullet strip on a charter out of Hervey Bay we were somewhere off 1770 at the time a fair way out not sure of the area but all you could see was water, Nailed some 8-12 Kg Nobbys as well, 10 on deck and we all took home a decent feed after 3 days. we were on the Golden Pheonix skippered by Chris, the son, now an employee as the Father sold the business about 12mths ago. Needs a bit of TLC the old girl but they put you on the fish every time.
