Stradic Ci4 1000 or Sol 2000 and what rod to match
Hey guys appreciate the help with this a lot.
My old combo that i'm retiring was a Capricorn 1500 with a 1-3kg sicstick pro. Mostly using hardbodies, small and light with the occasional placcy thrown in there as well.
So i'm getting myself a new bream combo and I'm not exactly sure what would be better for me. I currently have a Luvias DA custom 3000 with an egrell S4 for chasing snaps and the like. This is causing me to lean towards the 1000 Stradic as I don't need something in between for 'all purposes'. However I've heard that the 1000 sized reels have can have issues with braid. Now the Sol may be a bit larger but I know how well they perform. Some experiences of people with the stradic would be very welcome.
So now also comes the part of matching either of those reels with a rod suited for bream work, looking to stay around the $200 mark for a rod. Rod ideally would be 1-3kg rated but 2-4kgs are probably more common. Either way advice and people's expereinces with any/all of these items is much appreciated.

Whats wrong with your old Sic Stik pro?....I've been looking for the next upgrade for my 2-4kg version for a while but cant find anything that 'I believe' feels better until the budget gets way outta hand.
As far as braid issues with 1000 size shimano reels, the missus has a 1000 Aspire that needs regular attention to untwist the braid or it will fire off wind nots galore. that is with Sunline Super PE 6lb. I have a similar sized Quantum Tour Edition 10PTi and have no trouble with twist using the same line. A mate uses a 2000 Daiwa CY, no troubles either.

With the Stradic FI make sure you clean and oil the roller bearing straight out of the box. The 2500FI have this problem( i have 2) but once you oil them its all sweet.
I havent had any problems with my Stradic 2500 Ci4 though, only has 6 months use but has been pretty regular.
