Fish Front was Quite for Some

Went out Saturday morning for a run weather was awesome and we were keen for a good haul. But the fish gods didn't smile on us. 4 Fish one top trout and a snog er of a Rosy Job and a cod and a hussar was all we could manage. The sharks absolutely hammer us with a 15 min fight on a massive fella on my Tuff Tackle 9000 that the old man was using to get him to the boat to see colour and shape before a rub off on the leader seen him bust me.

Sunday looked the goods but i promised the kids a trip to the islands and a squidding trip was on the cards to ................ They kids had a ball with us jumping from beach to beach and having a spear didn't see much but got some great squid . So more calamari and red baits
And funny to see the 16 step daughter in her flash RipCurl Bikini's find out what squid ink does to lovely white colour HAHAHA
    What a drama Queen

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)

Only when they are smaller mate these one's are a bit big for that. Few arrow types at night float around a bit they are great .

Jt we must have got your share

we hit the red grounds early Saturday ( no JT in sight) for 4 good reds probably another 20 aprox 500mm and a couple of big grassies
as we stopped getting keeper reds and were ready to move an eighteen foot hydrofield came out of nowhere and tried to drop his pick right behind us... a few dirty looks and he dropped back 20metres so we left for johnsons
finished at Johnsons with a pelagic marathon 4 laps got 3 double hookups including a few wahoo, cobia ,spanish and a 10 kg spotty the 3 of us ended up with around 25kg fillets each we stopped and went home with a school of spannoes under the boat biting their heads off
we only took a couple so you know you've had a great day when you leave them on the chew
on the way home we saw a boat waving like mad about 3kms away so we headed over it was the same goose hydrofield broken down with no power and radio not working , karma is a bitch
did the right thing took home a very upset passenger who said he would never go in their boat again
I gave the coast guard the marks to find the others
They were helped by a big sharkcat trying another battery but no success and neither of them could reach the coast guard from 75kms
the cat had come in from even wider and it beats the crap out of me why people go past their radio range
we can get good service at Moresby about 106km
I didn't have to up the hydro owner espescially when I told him the coast guard bill would run out around $1200 he looked like he had just eaten crud so that was good enough for me
all in all a great day with the 2 deckies both nailing a couple of new species each
with the added satisfaction of helping someone in trouble

by the way, fine feed of squid bloke

    cheers

Mate great to see you got out wide of the islands! Those bloody noah's are relentless. Still, a bloody great take. As for the squid, once again they are a great size! Some ripper baits to come outta them no doubt. Maybe the weather gods are gonna play the game for a while. looks alright in the near future. Hope to see you get again again soon. Awesome result mate.
