There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
Nice fish, well done.
love the photos too, especially the one of the bird flying with a fish in its mouth
Nice going anthony well done on the prizes and some great photos too. Its funny what comps make you do and the crap you will put up with good stuff.
cheers pete...
well done you blokes.anthony and wayne.i fished and fished the 20 to 30mle range with one overnighter.cought some fish but not big ones, they were certanly out at the shelf.never been there yet.gotto pull me finger out and get there.1 month ago big reds and snapper were in close but not much haven a chew during comp, but thats fishen.you blokes doin overnighters on the shelf in that crap weather can have it alll to yourselves haha.cheers.

you are the man.
Thanks Anthony for info updates while you were at the comp. Had a slack attack this year. The weather you guys had made me miss the Fraser comp as thats what weather we had for the last couple. Sounds like everyone was pretty happy with how comp was run and prizes etc. who won the major prize this year and what was it. I still think Mitsubishi has a lot of work to do to be up there with the Toyota Fraser comps. But hey there having a go. Its great for Rainbow Beach and its a credit to the town for not ripping people off with rent prices etc unlike Orchid Beach at Fraser. From one year to the next it was not uncommon for rent to go up $1000 for the week up there.
Thanks again ,
Nathan
Thanks for taking the time to put in the pics as well as the story - great job! Wish I was there!
regards
Peter
Good to catch up Anthony. It was nice to also walk away with armfulls of prizes. Sunday saw me walk in with the biggest sweetie of the day at around 3.8kg spangled and my deckie, Brownie, came in with the biggest red of the day at about 7.3kg.
Monday gave me the biggest red of the day at 9.1kgand knocking Brownie off his perch. Then Brownie gets called up for the major draw and comes 3rd walking away with $1500 worth of coopers tyres.
As you said weather was a bit how you going for a few days but thats fishing I guess. Alround, a good week and we'll be back next year (if this government gets the arse!). Will post some pics if I get time.
Cheers

well done to all fishing in the weather,
some nice fish spot and kezza, have to be happy with that.
good on seano for the big fish.
cheers dale
Thanks to everyone for their comments, greatly appreciated!
I just hope this area isn't completely closed as there is so much quality fishing ground which is loaded with fish.
A certain charter operator told me if it is closed he is going to give everyone all his marks in the area so everyone can go fish it prior to it been closed haha
Anthony
Well done Ant and others who kept punching out in the weather. We only ventured outside on the Sunday and kept inside the rest of the days (issues). Fished 7 out of 8. As a result "reel scream" will be getting sold in a couple of months and a bigger boat will be built .
We did manage to pick up "biggest fish" catagory on three nights with some Spanish.
Cheers
Scott
Some nice Barries Scott. Slow trolling livies ??
