Friday Night Brissy River

Hit the river on Friday night hoping to get to Mud but the weather wasnt going to allow us,so we fished the river ,Ive still got lots to learn about this place ,so not really sure on locations, we went to a place Ive pulled a few snapper before and dropped the pick ,my mate picked up 2 legal squire and I landed my first river jew,bugger he was undersize then about an hour later of not much happening my rod takes off again and my first legal river jew hits the deck, Think ill be eating jew for a weeks now.

Been a ripper season for em thats a nice size to, did it have the worm?

Hi Brisbane boy ,this is the first legal Jew Ive caught so im unfamiliar with them could you tell me what to look for in reguards to this worm?? Thanks

Nice fish Snas - and great eating too. I've usually found that jew of that size don't have many worms. Here's a pic of worms in the flesh of a long tom. The worms in jew look pretty similar although they are often a more pink colour, roughly like a small earthworm coiled in the flesh. If you find any just cut them out and eat the rest of the fish - too good to waste.

Mate don't get to fussed on the worms, cut out what you can but they cook up ok, eaten plenty and I'm still alive.
