You might want to do some research into the closed season period for Bass in Queensland.

Every coastal creek in the area has bass in it. As Aussiebasser said, don't be fishing for the during the closed season, go to one of the lakes in SEQ. Take your pick of the lakes as there is no closed season in the stocked lakes / dams http://www.sweetwaterfishing.com.au/LocationsQLD.htm
