Now there are a lot of ways to get crayfish, but here is our most successful method!
Here's my little tutorial on the best way to ctach freshwater crays for bait. Four such devices are legal per person, and they must be labeled with your name as well!

Hi! Flatzie,

Have a look at your freshwater crayfishing traps/nets and ascertain the maximum size of "dillies" as you describe.

As a kid years ago we did the same thing but used a much bigger "dillie".
Only had one.

Another thing we did was use a rake or a specially made wire mesh scoop to pull out the weed and shrimps/crays.
Not too sure if that would be legal now.

Anyway as you said, good bait for a cod or yellowbelly.
