For those a bit keen on some political activism as the last chance to stop the nightmare team of Brown/Garret, letters to the editor of your local paper is a great way of getting the message out. Lot of people read them, while very few read political adds. If you have the germ of an idea or angle and need some help with the words, let me know. I will do everthing I can to flesh out your ideas into words that will help convince the readers.

Editors like letters from local residents, not out of town political blow ins. You also know the whos and wheres of you own local rags. Be the angle jobs, mining, fishing or whatever it is critical to try to build a groundswell of regional support to stop the Brown/Garret team.

below is a sample that can be used as a "cut and paste" if you live in or near a mining community.
The other thing to remember is that the green machine monitors this site and if they see a bit of organised protest going on it will at least give them some cause for concern.

Letter to the Editor

Dear Sir,

If the opinion polls are to be believed we are in all likelihood going to have the environmental “Dream Team” of Bob Brown and Peter Garret controlling our future. This should cause a ripple of joy in the cappuccino set but what does the future hold for the mining industry? We have already seen the Surratt and Bowen Basin coal seam gas projects put on hold while Garret considers EIS implications and as recently as last week he banned the historically important mining industry on Christmas Island. Garret has a well demonstrated hatred for the mining industry, almost on a par with Brown and the deal done between Labor and the Greens for preferences just about guarantees a Green controlled Senate. The only alternative to those who care about our industry and care about our Australian outdoor loving lifestyle is to vote for The Shooters & Fishers Party in the Senate. By all means vote for whoever you want to run the country but a vote for Labor in the Senate is really a vote for a Bob Brown/Peter Garret team which should ring alarm bells in this entire community. The Libs can’t stop this happening, nor can the Nationals, there needs to be a massive groundswell of blue collar support for the one party who actively and unashamedly oppose the Greens before the unholy alliance between Labor and the Greens can be reversed. Vote for your own future in the Senate by voting Shooters and Fishers Party
