    Northern Bay Snapper Session

Howdy Ausfishers, Jim and I left Manly boat harbour this morning at the crack of dawn bound for our usual Spot x in the north of the bay.
Forecast was for a 5 to 10 knot S/W Breeze but what we got was a sloppy 1/2 metre chop.
Must have been 60 boats around Mud as we passed by this morning.
We stopped at the 4 beacons on the way but no luck here so on to some more promising grounds futher north.
Out come the plastics and we start our first drift.
Nothing for the first couple of hours and then my rod loaded up and i was onto a good snap.
This fish put up a strong fight that lasted about 5 minutes before Jim netted a healthy 74cm bay snap.
    Just under 5 kilo.
Fishing was real slow today and after that we caught 2 more 40cm fish but that was it for the rest of the day.
Back at the ramp by sundown.
A magnificent day to be out on the water and a bonus feed of fresh fish what more could you ask for.
    Cheers Brent

Nice work Brent. It's enjoyable reading how well the bay is fishing from many fellow Ausfishers.

    Cheers,

They are around Brent if you put in the hard yards, which you always seem to be rewarded. Nice fish!

Hi Brian, Mate they must have had lock jaw today because the sounder was telling us there were plenty down there.
Next full moon the ledges will fire.
Now we just need the weather Gods to be kind to us. lol.

Its good to hear that good old spot X is still working well. I have not had a chance to chase the Snaps this season as our boat is being refurbished. Another two or three weeks should finish it off then look out Snapper

Plastic used was a 5" power bait in green colour on a 3/8th TT hook.
