Howdy Ausfishers, Jim and I left Manly boat harbour this morning at the crack of dawn bound for our usual Spot x in the north of the bay.
Forecast was for a 5 to 10 knot S/W Breeze but what we got was a sloppy 1/2 metre chop.
Must have been 60 boats around Mud as we passed by this morning.
We stopped at the 4 beacons on the way but no luck here so on to some more promising grounds futher north.
Out come the plastics and we start our first drift.
Nothing for the first couple of hours and then my rod loaded up and i was onto a good snap.
This fish put up a strong fight that lasted about 5 minutes before Jim netted a healthy 74cm bay snap.
Just under 5 kilo.
Fishing was real slow today and after that we caught 2 more 40cm fish but that was it for the rest of the day.
Back at the ramp by sundown.
A magnificent day to be out on the water and a bonus feed of fresh fish what more could you ask for.
Cheers Brent
