don't know about casting but tld 20 and 25's are not bad and the shimano charter specials are basically the same but cheaper
Abu Ambassadors are my favourite. Probably a little less than 200 as well.

Saltist or Torium....spend a little more and get a lot more reel.

I've had an Abu 6500 c4 for about 12 years it has copped so much abuse on the rocks and beach and still casts better than any other overhead i've used. Only problem is the handle is a bit small but i know you can order power handles to suit it just haven't got around to it yet..

My choice is an ABU 7000.
Have used one extensively off the beach. Have to be very careful of sand in the level wind mechanism though. Have not used it so much off the rocks as some of the places off the rocks you can not gety a full swing of the rod so a flick with a spinning reel is more practical and does not end in a birds nest and tears.
So it may depend on where you are fishing.

I'd go an eggbeater to be honest, especially if your primary use is off the rocks (better cast). The technology these days in the reels make them just as strong as overheads and with Braid spool diameter is a thing of the past, IMO.
Had a few Abu's over the years and their been excellent .... Only problem ever is when I get over zellous and try to overcast, finishing up in a birds nest !!!
Saltist and Torium are well worth the $, imo. They will not let you down - well, my Torium 30's anti reverse died, but it WAS a 150kg+ shark on 80lb braid... $35 to repair.
Coddie's right, imo. Eggbeater for casting, but what would I know?

If you want to get something from overseas have a good look at an Avet SX or MXL Thease reela are brilliant and tough as!
Great to cast and exceptionally tough enough for bottom bashing
Or you could go Ebay Australia and get a OMOTO vs 10 I think which is really an Avet copy and they are really good value. Dont let the unknown name factor put you off. You could pick up one of these foe around $150 which is great value

Have a look at the Shimano Speedmaster TSM 4
Stronger, lighter,cheaper, and more corosion proof than a Torium or Saltist and no unreliable one way roller bearings.
Unlike the Torium or Saltist, it also has hardened stainless steel gears and a more reliable anti reverse system in my opinion.

In regard to other reels, It amazes me how many people rate Shimano tlds so highly, They were a good all round reel years ago but they are way over priced for what they are these days.

Graphite frames are much more corrosion proof than any metal framed reel.
I own a Torium 20 and have modified the anti reverse dog on it, due to the well documented problems that the Saltists and Toriums have.
Shimano have put a spring on the anti reverse dog of the new Trinidads because of this problem.
I would not pay as much for a Saltist or Torium as I would for a Speedmaster, tld star, 15/ 30 or 20/40, and you can get them now under $200. Bargain!
