    School Holiday Fishing

Just the photos I have myself or customers sent back. Still waiting on more. Did a 12 day stretch there at one stage but three of those days ended up being on the river chasing gar which have been going good this year.

    Re: School Holiday Fishing

I've been keeping the smaller ones for marlin and mackerel baits and the customers got the big ones to eat.

how many inches long do you reckon for the marlin baits Smithy?

    Re: School Holiday Fishing

There's a chain of thought that smaller is better so they just crash it and swallow it all in one motion for a better hookup. 8" body are good. The ones you buy for bait are often a lot smaller than the 3x2s you catch yourself and are that 8" sort of size. The best bought ones I have come across were from Townsville at Dale Weldon's shop I think it was. The gill plates were torn on some being netted like most of the bait ones are but the quality was great and they still had a flouro blue stripe on them.
