I had heard of it at peel a lot of years back, I was told they smash up the hardy heads in the shallows down there but had not seen it myself until that day, or i probably did but thought they were something else.

most of the snapper on soft plastics i have caught hit it as soon as it landed, I remember starlo saying the same thing a few years back doing a talk at sundown marine, I reckon they see it flying through the air, I ve had bass take poppers before they even hit the water, be good to see a 5 kilo snap do that.

Give a man a fish, he'll eat it and fall asleep.
Teach a man to fish and he'll endanger an entire species
Nice fish mate well done.
I was out last night just outside the mouth of the Brissy river and there would of been 20 or more jew surfice feeding I'm guessing on tailor. I've fished for a long time in this area and it's only the second time i"ve seen them feeding like that.
Cheers

I was going down tingalpa creek a couple of years back and seen a jew jump about 4 foot out of the water about 20 metres up from the car bridge, scared the crap out of me, nearly landed in my little tinny seajay3.9 at the time, it would have been approx 20 kg, made a big splash.
if the big blue jelly fish were around youl find that small bait fish hide inside them, generally only 5-10 little fish at a time no more than an inch long, the snapper and squire will rise to these jellys and bury there noses right into the heads of these jellys nailing all the little fish housing in them. i have caught manyn squire/snapper in exactly the same way, land the plastic right on the splash and before it even sinks a meter yer on.. good fun
