Could'nt pass up a monday session with such nice weather. Took the old boy out for a run seeing as though neither of us had other commitments. Put the boat in at labrador, shot out through the seaway and filled the live tank with yakkas, turned out to be a waste of time.
Fished mostly 60-65 metres working our way north. Pulled up on a nice little show around 11, mainly for a feed, when the old fella was pleasantly surprised to hook up to the bigger snap in the pics wich went 6kg. Got a few smaller models not long after.
Could'nt lose a livey to a decent fish all day, the snaps took pillies and yakka fillets, wich were being de-livied by juvenile trag. Pulled the pin a bit after 2, come in through jumpinpin bar for a change of scenery on the way back to the ramp.

Depth was ok. Can't give to much advice as it was the first time i've crossed the pin bar myself. Seeing as we pulled up stumps a little north east of the bar we thought we'd come through for a look. Seeing as it was an hour or so after low water and on the flood it was relatively pleasant. Have crossed the south passage bar countless times, usually through the northern chanel, and have heard the northern most of the three referred to as the northern or trawler entrance, not sure if this is the one you mean. Have heard a lot of bad stories about the pin bar but will be using it more in future, definately with caution and only on the run in tide. Knew an old fella that lived southside if brisbane, keen and experienced fisho, was never keen on using the pin bar even though he mostly fished north east of the goldy offshore and would always use the seaway.
