I am heading to sydney in 3 weeks to visit a mate and we will be heading back up the coast to QLD. Does anyone know some good rivers that would be worth checking out. I love catching Flathead and Squid but I do not have a boat.
If you know of a good river that is easily accessible on foot OR you have a boat and wouldn't mind a tag along please leave a post..
I have also had a crack at rock fishing for tailor, I would be keen to get out on the rocks early. Any location where you have made good catches would be appreciated.
IMHO the Clarence, Richmond and Tweed rivers will have the flatties starting up earlier than the southern ones....
Check the recent posts in the Estuary section on tailor catches in this area also.
Cheers and enjoy!
Thanks mate. I go to the tweed all the time went just last week and took a mate who had never really used lures (except for a crap land based week at 1770 - christmas time - 3 days for 1 bream). We caught half a dozen flatties, 2 taylor and 5 bream in the tweed.
