I am going back a few moons ago now but there used to be a guy in Coffs Harbour who done some of the best work in Oz, doing a lot of show car stuff etc.I am sure his name was north coast chroming or coffs chroming some thing to that effect. We used to send bars for him to do from Newcastle and about a two week turn around.

Perhaps that may help you out.If you manage to get hold of the business and the same people doing the work as about 10yrs ago i can vouch for the quality of the work.

    Best of luck with it.

PM Heath, his old man (Andy) is a chrome plater and one of the best around.. I would tell you where he works but you are better off dealing with Andy direct.

    Re: Chrome Plating

The biggest problem with chroming now is a lot of blokes are not using copper as a base.

The guys in Coffs are brilliant if they have not changed since I used them when I built the old HR wagon. Bloody thing took me longer to clean the engine bay then the rest of it
The is a guy over Moorooka way and the guys in Lismore are good.
Ask them though what based they use because this will alter the longevity and the appearance of the article.
Is the Celica getting a freshen up??
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

    Hi Finga

Its had a respray; original colour; after it was taken back to bare and the bumper is just a bit rusty on the the top / flat where moisture may have sat. Daughter dinged the bumper some years ago and she had it repaired but as you say who knows what base they used?
Seems that auto, a/c roadworthy 37yr old Celicas are getting a bit rare these days!

    Hows the wheat harvest going?

Your clock is apparently soon to be ticking but I believe not quite yet as he got distracted when he took his missus caravaning and nearly lost her.
Shes nearly all better ..........so he can do other things again
