the way i read this deal.... they sold 1400 odd places....
the places are $49 each you then ring and book a place on a trip between july 9....tomorrow and january 9 2011....the boat takes 10 people on a charter.. of these most would be full fare payers and its a standard charter....

the sale was for 24 hours... finished at noon today...

a bit like the deals on getaway...

i may be wrong but pretty sure thats the way it works.... anyway well see....
    Cheers Chris

I bought my ticket on Monday so it's been on all this week. The boat apparently can take 18 each trip.

I'm booked on it, I'll wait until the weather settles, maybe the fish will be back by then.

went out this morning, 11 or 12 fisherman, skipper and deckie were great, tried like hell to put us onto fish but alas not 1 legal boated..... although on the first drop i hooked something BIG (id say over 20kg) the skipper thought cobia, could be right.... about 1/3 of the way up in 35 meters and its gone.... musta just had a bit of lip and pulled the hook (4 or 5/0 octopus)..... but thats fishing prolly 15-20knots SE

anyhow... 5 stars to the crew....great boat good gear frozen bait in real good nick, nice smoko....all good.... i hope the others on here with tickets have better luck with the fish

next time id take the full day for a bump a bit wider...
    Cheers Chris

Hey Chris - sounds like you fished the Coby Hole.
Can be good but you need to float a bait back from the boat to get away from the bottom bashers underneath. In 35m of water, if you dont cast a floater out then try using a balloon and tie it off anywhere between mid water and the bottom. It gets you well away from the boat and avoids the tangles!

    Yeah plato
the deckie tried a balloon with a livie and floated a pilly down.... no luck on either ...
we were targeting the reefies... only got rats up to 34cm, some small trevs, yakkas and rubbish

there were arches on the sounder but not heaps...

    wish id landed mine but....

anyway a great day on the water
    Cheers Chris
