Update.

I've made phone calls to various tips and recycling mobs and all seems to be no go.

Ashmore metal recyclers say the kegs remain property or brewery and if they get any it goes straight to crusher to avoid cops asking questions.

What a screwed up system of laws. Maybe they think I'm going to make a brewery or go in competition and govt does not collect their tax...dream on.

If any one knows where I can get a cheap CUB keg then let me know please.

A friend of mine wanted one and knew a local that had some. Went to pick one up and missed out. Story was that he advertised in the local that he had some for sale, and someone that worked for CUB saw it. He then had a visit and was given 2 options. Either hand them over or be charged with theft.

Your friend must have been silly to advertise it in the local paper, that's asking for trouble.

Might get mine from China direct, and if CUB says its theirs , then they can be charged for harrassment Have chinese Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Chairman Ale

I used to get kegs from the local as I used to have beer on tap at home.
I was never asked for them back and I am in the process of turning one into a mini Spit for camping.
