hey pal ,u shouldnt have a problem with the flatties as i caught my personal best[recorded] on fluro 12 pnd pre test.i even caught 2 yesterday on straight braid tied to hardbody.if your using light line i believe you should be good for most other estuary species

Bulldogs do you mean a bright fluro coloured line, or a flurocarbon line?
    Cheers and thanks.

    Re: leaders with fluro

FC line & FC leader is not the one and same ........ leader is much tougher / abrasion resistant.
You can fish FC line straight through - but you are rolling the dice ......

If you mean Bright fluro line, then yes running a clear leader would help.
If you are going to spool up with flurocarbon line, than that is fine straight through.
    Cheers and thanks.

A leader of either mono - or FC is a good idea then

    Re: leaders with fluro

I guess what it comes down to is, if the fish are in a biting mood, then the bright line will be OK, but when the going is tough (as it is most days) then you want to give yourself the best possible chance of getting a bite, and this means light traces that are hard to see in the water (not bright fluro) and well presented baits or lures. You need to give yourself every advantage possible.
