We’ve all had a bad days fishing, but we tend to avoid discussing the bad ones only brag about the go ones. It’s easy to blame the charter operator but these guys aren’t always in control.
On Saturday I left the Seaway at around 4.30am with my brother spent a little time at the 24’s and later decided to go to the 36’s which was a mistake the weather out wide was absolutely horrendous true to the forecast. So I returned back to the 24’s and saw the 2 Charter boats actively working the grounds. Other than one boat returning from the 36’s making a bee line home which I recon was “timfishin4fun” while I was heading to the 36’s, I didn’t see another boat outside all day except the Charter boats on the 24’s. In a way you’re lucky to get out on the water that day.
I don’t understand the big cry yes if the operator was rude to your boy fair enough every dad is defensive but because they left 15min’s late and you didn’t catch fish! Mate it’s the Gold Coast 24’s what did you expect a Cairns offshore fishing adventure. The weather was far from perfect wind going one way current the other lines will get tangled.
It’s been a tough year for most small businesses, don’t make it any harder for them by defaming them when they cannot defend themselves on a public forum, I’m sure they have had some good trips as well. Just remember more than likely the charter operator has expenses and a family to feed too.
