Bigger snaps east of Double island

Well we decided to put in the miles and head out wide east of Di in search of bigger snapper and pearlies. Joe, Jamie, Bill and myself in Joe's boat. We left Mooloolah river Tuesday morning with a long trip ahead. We arrived and dropped on the shallower marks first (sounder shot sorry about the flash & dirty screen)pulled up multiples of tuskies and squire. Done a few drifts and even though the tuskies were the large green ones we were keen to find the pearlies and snapper so we headed deeper to the 80,90 &110m stuff. Well some of us were keen anyway. Fish were all a good qaulity(snapper, tuskies, pearies, jobbies, gold spot, maori cod etc) and after dark just kept getting better. So much for the no run no fun theory i was even getting the plastics down in 110m on the drift, boy conditions were great. Several spapper in the 800's and pearlies in the 500-600 range. Well all good things must come to a end so we left them bitting So every one, well eyeryone but me got comfy and had a sleep on the way back in after another great day on the water with good company and plenty of fish, it doesn't get much better.
    Thanks guys

Gaven, well you certainly weren't lying with your title, bigger snaps indeed. I was out yesterday too but you and your mates cleaned me up. There's quality across a few species in your photos aswell. Well done mate.

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges

Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
