I thought I'd get out for a fish this weekend but doesnt look like its happening so i'll post up a couple of fish from earlier in the week

sunday was just a quick river mouth trip with Steve, river was very quiet, no bait to be seen anywhere and most of the usual traps were dead. even noticed the guys on one of the prawn trawlers hanging a line out the back instead of trawling, lol

We both got a jew each in the mid 60's jigging threadybuster jnrs (formerly known as deepthroaters) and nothing other than a few bumps and half hearted hookups after that.

Got out the next day for a quick mission and pulled a little thready, the jnr was taken deep but no blood spilled and no gills nicked luckily.

of course mate, usually get a few at the mouth as ive put in the hours enough to usually find one or two, but nobody is safe from the dreaded donut, it can pop up anywhere, anytime

Nice one dan. Dont know where you get these baby salmon. they would be great fun on lighter gear. I dont think i've got one under 80-90 from the river yet. That glow TB worked a treat last night. cheers

i love catching the smallies rob much less hassle releasing them, as they power off every time, great little light gear fighters.

seeing yours and BK's jew report is salt in the wound hehe ive been itching the last 3 nights to get down for a fish. always next week

i've done alright on the glowers, daytime too as theres not a heap of light 12m down and you get a free charge from the sun

nice one dan, its a great time of the year for the brissy, i wish i could get out as much as you do but a wife and kids do that to you. As brisbane boy said in my thread, the thredies have been evading me latley, but i suppose i havent been targeting them directly more as by catch from fishing for the jewies, still ill take the jewies, as long as im catching something im happy. cheers BK

i like the jewies just as much mate, i'll take a 120 jewie over a 120 threadie anyday
