Okay been planning the trip for months and months and lol and behold the weather is Stuffed for it
Left Rosslyn Bay harbour for Pearl bay at 12 .30 pm on Sunday after noon loaded to the hilt in two boats in 20 knots.
Trip was fine till about the 50 km mark where the swells and winds were howling even worse as we went past Port Clinton with the out going tide and wind well lets say i have been in some awesome weather in it's in the top 3.
We managed it well the big SeaFox beside us and the Cruise Craft finally arrived after 2 hours travelling the 84 km to get there
We sent camp and started the usual on the piss while cooking rib fillet on the BBQ and settled in for the night. And yes it poured rained during the night to have me awoken by the rain dripping thru my brand new tent. Pulled the swag over my head.
Morning seen the winds at 30 knots and not real flash for fishing or much else. We trolled lures we popper ed lures and we threw lures but the waves and swell kept us from going to far . The water was so murky as well. Managed one nice spottie on a bait jig for lunch.
Well over the next couple days same cept for tuesday night seen it rain for 18 hours straight which lead us onto some awesome queenie action one early morning but with no beaching of the fish.
Wind finally eased a lot to 15 knots on the thursday afternoon but still a massive swell running . Between the 2 boats we manged a mixed bag of grunter sweetlip stripeys blueys trevalley moses pearch and hussar .
Friday seem us packed and on way home to beautiful conditions of variable winds with a thick fog.
Call was made to fish that day as we got to ramp around 11 am and we unloaded into the 2nd boat and my fathers ute we fuelled and headed out to get some of the crew onto some reds. Conditions were awesome but fish were slow . But in the end not a bad result with a 8.5 kg red and 5 redjew and a black king to add
Video attached Enjoy
