Lowrance LMS-527C DF iGPS

Hello,

I have one of these units and I want to attach a radar to it. I am doing allot of night fishing and want this extra safety feature. Now the unit I have has been discontinued but can support radar. I don’t see any reason why I should upgrade the gps/sounder if it’s working perfectly normal?

Do I sell my current unit and upgrade to a newer unit and then do the radar upgrade? Or do I get the dome for my current unit?

the radar itself will cost you a couple of thousand, your unit is more than capable of displaying the data.

Comes down to how much you want to spend, you will be able to use the radar on other units. the 527 has an ethernet port.

Do you know what model of the lowrance radar I need to look into? From what I have read I can only use the Lowrance LRA-1000 but I can't seem to track it down?
