    Greenback tailor comp

Anyone else fish the cabba comp on the weekend? A mate and i scored some nice tailor to about 2kg and missed a couple of big fish but not in the running really.
Biggest tailor went 3.3kg nice fish but no monster. Biggest jew went 18.6kg with lots of schoolies weighed in also. Good fun.

    Re: Greenback tailor comp

Hey Ben I fished the Greenback this year as I have for the last 10 or so years and had a great time. We worked hard for fish and after our third move caught several schoolies, one ok Jew a couple of bream and one tailor. The fish I caught were good enough to get me a place in a couple of categories and heaviest in another (which was awarded to another angler as you cant win in more than one category any more).
The number of schoolies this year was surprising as was the overall lack of Tailor which was surprising as most people I know had been catching good fish in the build up.
I really like this comp and its the only one I fish now as its over quick and the species are ones I target.
The other great thing is this is all about raising money for an area where I regularly fish.

    Hey guys,

I was at the Reddy bay comp on the weekend, winning tailor was a massive 5 1/2 kilo. I didn't even know tailor got that big. Very impressive.

You did pretty well then john. Bill, Hell yes thats the calibre of fish i expected too see at the cabba comp aswell.
Bondy, you wont be getting a p.m. from me. I eat them, use them for bait and the crabs love chewing on them also.I only took the one tailor to the weigh in but we scored a dozen or more. Ben

My mate's dad lives across the road, and he was telling me about how to whole street was filled with utes and fishing rods hahaha.

I might give it a go next year, too busy for it this year.

    Thanks,

You may as well give it a go if your fishing in that area anyway Kaidon. One of those utes was mine Haha, there was plenty of them as well as seedy looking fisho's. Ben
