Early morning Monday @ Maroon
Got up early to watch the soccer but decided to have a fish instead seeing I pulled the pin on Sat morning and the boat was still ready to go. Listened to it on the radio while driving to Maroon and was glad I didn't hang around to watch. Arrived a little before the sun, nice conditions (esp in the backs of inlets) but a touch nippy. Just a little too much wind for surface but sub surface over the tops of the weed has been going well lately, worked on 3 trips in as many weeks. Catching bass in 4 to 5 foot of water with weed growing to within 1 foot of the surface so lures diving to 12 inches are working, Mazzy pops, shallow Rippin Minows ect. best to head to the back corner of the dam. Landed 4 before the sun got too high, from 34 to 40 wich isn't bad for Maroon. Got a couple of rats on fly at the edge of the weed on the way back to the ramp, home by 10 to clean up the yard before a family bbq. great way to spend a public holiday, pitty about the soccer
Cheers
