    Best value for bait

    Hi
Does anyone know where in Brisbane (preferably bayside) to get bait for the best value ?
I heard Richards fish wholesalers at Bulimba is pretty good if you buy bulk but I don't know what the prices are.
    Regards
    Dave

Try LUC's seafood they sell to the public but you'll have to buy 10 to 20kg lots squid $4kg, pilchards $4kg, bonito $5 to $6kg, mullet fillets $4kg prices sometimes less but steady most of the year.

Where is LUC's Seafood? Hope this is Northside somewhere? If not, any ideas on shops up this way with specials like that.

Fishbait, I get most of my bait from Morgans Seafood at Scarborough. At the moment they have fresh whole mullet for about $2.95 per kg. Was down to 2.50 recently so I got heaps and vac sealed them (stops freezer burn) so they don't go skanky in the freezer. Pillies are usually fairly cheap as well. Squid is more expensive. Between $8 - $10. Very good quality.

best VALUE for bait is zmans. even if you pay $10 per packet. multiple trips out from 1 bait, dont need to chuck the left overs - cant get better value than that.

fished bait for 30 years and still use it - only at night tho (this weeks best was on a squid head). but dave was asking about best value for bait. and unless you catch your own, zmans are the best value bait going.
