Just been reading the fine print at the back of my Hinze license and it states that "nets, pots and cages' are prohibited". I don't know if this is only referring to fish/fishing in the dam or any type fishing/catching type activity. - Richard
Richard,
I would suggest for clarity you can contact Qld Boating and Fisheries Patrol on the Gold Coast and ask them about using opera house traps for redclaw on Hinze Dam.
If you paid for the Freshwater fisheries permit then you are entitled to use any of the Stock Impoundments. Then again its always been the rule "conditions apply".
See what they say and then you will know 100%.
Hope this helps you
Cheers
