    anyone fished bells creek caloundra?

Anyone ventured down passed the boat ramp and fished down bells creek?. I only recently ventured down there since ive had the boat. Biggest fish is a 29cm bream and a 27cm whiting everything else is undersize etc. I presume its a good home to decent bream whiting and flathead maybe jacks in summer. But yeah anyone been down there what have you caught? is it worth fully exploring

I fished it over the summer with mixed results but overall was dissapointed considering the yabbie banks and deeper holes it contained. I did get a few crabs but the pots were constantly touched by others and there was also a pro crabber working who had his huge pots tied together on either end of a rope with no float to hide it. Only found them because we picked up the rope with the engine prop.

We did flick for Jacks but got none and only picked up a few small bream and moses perch. There's miles of calm water and plenty of snags so there should be jacks up there and you can only get up there on high tide because the sand bank cuts off most boats just up from the ramp. I went back with the kayak and headed over the flats silently and picked up a couple of legal flathead after high tide. It's the kind of place you just need to try a few spots and sound around for structure and it's hit and miss.

yeah I have managed to get up there high tide and i can get back at low tide with the electric motor. Yabbie banks everywhere in there but yeah i thought it would be alot better fishing. I actualy dont see to many crab pots down there but then again they may be hidden. I was considering trying along there this weekend as i cant think of any other spots out of the wind if it picks up like it says its going too.
