    Re: FAD's Being Removed

Are they concerned that there might be an accident between a whale and a FAD???

Perhaps a spout to FAD incident..

    Re: FAD's Being Removed

What a joke! As if a whale is going to crash into a FAD.
Are they going to ban long liners from placing the radios bouys on their lines too in case a whale crashes into one?

Yep,think it's a bit stupid, they dont move ours in Ballina.....

As if a whale is going to be cruising along and not notice a FAD,

    although,

I have had a whale surface 30-40 feet in front of my boat,
it must have swore in whale and dived again
    to go DIRECTLY under us.....

gee I was glad to see the tail go past

    Keeps....... them....... em......ployed....... I....... sup.......pose.......(read slowly)

I think the shark nets should be pulled and replaced with damn big hooks and a drum. You know.......the baited drum lines. I haven't heard of too many whales being hooked on them cos you can't get the krill to stay on long enough
