    crab size regulations

A mate has told me he went to a shop for a new crab measurer the other day and was told they had been recalled as the size limits are under review. Anyone know anything about this. It was a large reputable store with no reason to make up a story about having none in stock.

Not sure on that one, but I was informed by a large reputable store starting with a b, that the rectangular pots aren't sold there anymore because they are illegal to use. Which is wrong.

    Re: crab size regulations

i have recently heard strange things about crab regulations aswell. I've been told that jennies over 180mm will be legal in QLD as of july 1, 2010. Not too sure about it though.

Although no decisions have been made, research into the feasibility of removing the single-sex harvest policy for mud crabs has begun. A workshop was organised at the end of last year which brought together stakeholders and scientists and looked at the single-sex harvest issue. Nothing has been finalised yet and the Minister will make a decision on how to proceed. ..Fellas I recieved this and this is from R/Fish Qld on that date.
    Stay tuned!
