    Shellharbour/Kiama/wollongong

Anyone on these forums from these areas. I've arrived at shellharbour for work for the next 2-3 months and am looking for a guide or anyone who doesn't mind a tag-a-long to the local haunts. Heck anyone who can point me in the general direction with a few pointers...

i've a 10footer15lb and a 7footer10lb looking for land based fishos for some late afternoon or weekend fishing, estuary, surf, rocks.. Just keen to get amongst it.

    cheers..

Hi FishCQ used to live in that area. I know for a fact you can catch tuna, salmon and tailor off the point at Kiama blowhole/lighthouse.Use to float pillies and livies out there early mornings and spin slugs.Watch the weather and swell and do what the locals do it can get rough out there. There are great spots on the rocks all the way along there(Kiama to Wollongong) for blackfish, bream and drummer.Look for where the cabbage is growing.
Shellharbour harbour is good for squid at night.Minnamurra river is good for estuary fishing flathead, bream etc
    Hope this helps a bit.

I live at shellharbour (well Barrack Point actually), what sort of fishing are you into? lots of shore based spots around here, Lake Illawarra is good for the usualy species on lures or bait, there is a million good beach and rock spots as well, also quite a few boaters who want a crew, and game fisherman as well if thats your bag, just let us know what you would like to do, what sort of work are you doing?

yesterday i got some royal red prawns and some pillies and had a fish down off the rocks at kiama near the blow hole, picked up couple drummer a nice fat bream and 5 snapper right off the point below the life buoy.

But yeah in regards to type of fishing I don't really mind... I just love to fish when not at work. Rocks/beach/estuary/boat, soft plastics/lures/bait.
I am keen for late afternoons/nights and days/nights on weekends. Other members of the party can keep the catch as i am in a motel room with no kitchen or bbq. The fish i got on the weekend i gave to an older gentleman who was fishing off the rocks at Kiama.

I'm down here from QLD for construction work in Unanderra. I was just looking for some one to fish/chat with who is as keen as I am... lol

i've slayed a few flatties at lake illawarra foreshore off the rock wall near the bridge..

But yeah keen for all types of fishing just say where and when.
