Thread: Any one want to help some special Kids ?

Re: Any one want to help some special Kids ?

    Just an update,
It looks like we will be fishing in the Currumdi Lake. I don't know if it's tidal or what yet.
Insurance is covered under Camp Quality's insurance and we are looking into whether helpers require a blue card. As there is no 1 on 1, blue card might not be required.

    Thanks.

    Tony,

I'll be up that way and am happy to help out if needed. The lake is a great spot especially on a low tide as you can walk out on the bank and fish the gutters for whiting and bream. There is also heaps of yabbies to pump which I know my kids like better than the fishing.

Let me know if there is anything else needed,

    Dave

Re: Any one want to help some special Kids ?

For those who have never done anything for Camp Quality I can tell you it is nothing but inspirational.
I used to do the week long camps for Camp Quality in Northern NSW and the enthusiasm of these kids can only be described as mind blowing...and catching.
If you can help you will not only be helping the kids and their families you will also be helping yourself.
If you only get a better perspective on life after doing some things with these kids then your not trying real hard.
I highly recommend anyone of you to make the effort to help if you can for your own sake.
And it's always a good laugh which is usually at the carers (or adults) expense.

If I'm in Brisbane at the time then I'd be more then happy to lend a hand and to donate some tackle to go with Phil's rod's.
I have sent a PM with my details.

Thank you for the opportunity to open my eyes again Tony.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Re: Any one want to help some special Kids ?

Tony, how many kids are booked in??
I was just thinking that if there are more kids and carers then the 20 combo's Phil has then those who go might be able to fill in the gap with some of their own outfits to get the numbers up so everyone can have a go.

And please to those who put their hands up...please do so if you know you can make it.
A few of these sorts of things have happened before and people have put their hands up but when the day comes it's left up to a few to pull the slack up. It makes Tony's job that much harder too.

These sorts of events do mean a lot to the kids even if the exercise itself is for a short period of time.
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

I think you better put up a report, along with pics, in the reports section. I know many will appreciate it...and maybe make them more amenable to participating n the next one.

    Cheers
