Mate from what i can see, if that low over sthrn aus is slow moving, you may have a decent pressure gradient between it and the high which is currently west and north of it. May be some south westerlies come from that, the strength depends on the pressure gradient. Too far out to tell really, so sit tight and wait til sunday/monday I reckon, otherwise you'll drive yourself bonkers!

I have always said that after a bit of time looking at weather maps and noting what goes on in YOUR local area, you will get far better at predictiong what is going on than any weather forecasters, remember they are doing just what you are trying to do, it is a PREDICTION, and a general one at that, whereas you can concetrate on your location specificaly, sure you will get it wrong at times, but so does all the other "experts" give it a try and take notes, you will be very surprised how good you will get over time.

seabreeze.com.au have pretty accurate 5 day wind forecasts graphs.
They do update them I think daily but I have found them to be pretty good.
There is a link on here for the site as well under Weather.

Looking at the current charts our weather will be detemined on Sunday when the low pressure system hits the WA coastline. If it crosses the land and weakens the weather should be reasonable. If by chance it drops below WA and enters the Southern Ocean we could be in for some rather strong cold fronts in mid to late next week. It all rests on the path of that low off WA. At the moment its looking 50-50 bet on what it does.

Going by the way the so called "experts" have been predicting the weather of late.....I'd say, have a crack yourself.
I have been caught of late putting too much trust in the weather reports on TV and internet.
I'm not an expert and do not proclaim to be....but surely if we can put man on the moon, we can predict the weather a little more accurately than how they do currently.

    Just my opinion.

    Hey greenie,
you goin offshore or up the creeks?

Not many punters willing to stick their neck out.....but i will.
(sorry, I just noticed the dates, cant make a call 7 days out, but 5 days is worth a punt).

    I like this chart
    http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDG00074.shtml
and I use it in conjunction with seabreeze, but seabreeze is often overcooked, it can turn out less windy than it forecasts.

I reckon weds will be ok early 5-10kts from 6am -9am, but could be STH 15knts and lumpy by mid mornng.
Thurs should be perfect calm and flat 5 knts, maybe odd bit of rain tho.

    thats my call.
    Lets see.

    cheers

Mate had another look and the low will be a bit of a problem it looks on wed, maybe 20kt sw/s. If it moves away like it says and the high is pooling more at mid latitude, you might be having slighter s/se on thursday, maybe 10kts. Still a ways out, though.

Re: Amature weather forcasters, what do you think

    Thanks for all that guys.

All I know (or don't) is if the bars are close together the winds are strong.....the rest I know NOTHING!!! I'll be fishing the barra lake 12-6pm Wednesday, then one of the rivers 6-11am Thursday. Looking to be a bit windy atm, but my brother is sick atm so I might not be going at all!!!
