    Moreton Bay comp

    Hi guys,

    Fished a comp run by Brisbane Fishing Online over the weekend. Plan was to do an overnighter and hit the bay hoping to get a few nice snapper for the category

    Conditions on the first day were excellent and I started late for the evening/night session. Fishing started slow but eventually got a solid hookup on a chief threadybuster which powered off at a ridiculous amount of knots :shocked: given the area I thought kingy, had not caught one previously and I was told to go relatively easy or he'd just pull harder and brick me. Took it easy and eventually landed a yt king close to the 100cm :smiley:

    Got a bit quiet after that excitement so we moved around a bit. Decided to try some other areas for the snapper, put a few k's under the belt and ended up throwing the vibes in around 10m of water. Got a solid whack plenty of casts later and big headshakes told me a nice snap, got him in fairly quick and measured 66cm.

    Some smaller snapper after that before deciding to have an anchor and sleep, the wind was up a bit late and the cold was bitter but was a good session.

    Woke around dawn and headed in. The 66 snap won first kingy wasn't on the list though hehe

    pics;

    cheers
    Dan

    Excellent fish there mate, what weight did knobby go.
    You were not wrong about the cold on the weekend, I pity you guys in the open boats with the wind chill factor.
