Keen to take the new rig out. As I live in Emerald anyone care to make a prediction for weather this wednesday Thursday? Bom has it at 10/15,seabreeze has wed and thursday looking good.
Anyone in Yeppoon, whats the weather like currently?
Im thinking of heading up towards perforated/flat weather pending. Not overly keen on heading straight east for my maiden voyage

There is a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges
Up here we Use Hussar as baits for real RED FISHS (SHSIIFDER)
I dont trust seabreeze no more, been caught out to many times...
I use bom or coast watch
cheers james
Yes Seabreeze uses a factor method but if you scroll down to the bottom of Seabreeze low and behold BOM . The get their information from

gudday flex,
I too am an Emerald local yocal, my old man is in yeppoon at the moment but he is only going out in close chasing small macks. He said it's been flat. Wed thurs looks good. I had a mate that went up to flat on the weekend. He would have filled the boat with large mouth but couldn't get them past the sharks. They did manage to get 3 large mouth, trout, tuskers and bagged out on spanish mackeral up to about 10 kilo. They bagged out on spanish in an hour and a half just using a floating pillie while they drifted. Hope this helps.
from boony
Fishing can be defined as "A jerk on one end of the rod, waiting for a jerk on the other".
"Fishing was around along time before you darling"
All ways look at the wind speed for Rundle island this will tell you what its likley to be. sea breese is very good it is extremly hard to get a 5-10 knot forcast out of bom. mackrel are biting there heads off at present to the east. Its a long way up to flat and perforated. If it is indeed a brand new rig I would be carefull about how far you go.
Thanks for the info.
I headed out on Wednesday after not a breath of wind in rocky at 4am. By 6am it was blowing a good 15knots.By 10 am it was close to 20 knots so headed back in about 11.Strangely when I got back to rosslyn bay and into rocky was hardly a breath of wind.Yet out at Keppel it was blowing rather hard.
Got halfway to Perforated and decided it was going to take me to long to get there. So mucked around the Keppels for half the day.
Caught the usual small stuff off the bottom but no mackerel about I could find.
Was a good opportunity to run the new rig in some slop. Im very happy how it handled. White caps in the bay and I could still run home on the plane easily. And for how choppy it was I hardly got wet at all in the CC. Im also in love with trim tabs!.They make a massive difference in ride comfort
