Looks like a parasite from just under the skin once cooked won't affect you I would not try raw. Similar to the worm you find in a lot of fish
cheers
I was prepping up some Nannygai for dinner tonight when I noticed an unusually large amount of these "shadows "in the flesh. They look like small splinters I guess about 5mm long and are all bunched in clusters in the flesh. When I cut them out, they all come out individually like splinters also. I have noticed the small grubs in trout and can usually cut them out, but these were too small and too many in this fillet. They are at all depths through the flesh.
Any advise on what it is and is it safe to eat?

Extra protein mate dun worry about it and fry it up. You would have more ugly looking things in your gut that that if you are healthy.
