12 Mile Trout

I left Mooloolaba about 6.00am for a quick fish as we were going to a ball in Coolum (my son decided to stay in bed as it was a bit cold) so headed out solo. Started fishing and was getting undersize squire and cod. I did get a few keepers but was slow fishing. Tried about 6 marks and then decided to sound around for some new ground, anchored on a good bait show on the sounder and got hit by something big as it took me straight into a hole. tried for about 2 minutes to pull it out but it wasn't going to move. I let all the tension off the line and it came out, so i locked the drag up and and up came a 63cm coral trout. A PB on line fishing (have speared bigger) So after that i cruised in on a good sea at about 25knots.
One good fish can make an ordinary trip into a great trip
