    Mooloolaba - Day Off Work

It was good to finally get offshore again after the poor weather. Fished early between the blinker and murphy's on Wednesday. First time out for my mate and good to see fish were on the bite. Was pulled over by DPI on the way in. They checked everywhere - live bait tank, kill tank, esky, they even measured the frames in the crab pots. Had all fins removed except 2 tiny hussers which they pulled me up on. I cut them on the spot and all was good. Checked flares and epirb which I thought was not their authority. Caught a toad fish with a stainless steel trace coming out of its rear end - never seen anything like it. Gave it a gentle pull and hook and all was removed.
    Great morning off work!

Yes. 3 officers, 1 boarded, he got drenched looking in the kill tank as was full of water - lucky no crabs to bite his fingers off!

Thanks guys for your comments and feedback. Was my first coral trout as they don't normally come down this south. Was caught on a PE Tackle Fly and was my first time using their tackle.

Man you were lucky i have heard there fineing fishós at the sunny coast pretty hard.

Here's a tip "FIN ALL YOUR KEEPERS" we do then theres no problem of watching deckies putting fish in the esky wondering if there finned or not.
