Bribie Flats - Lizards, Pike and Choppers

Fished from about 4.30am through til top of the tide around 8.00am this morning (Weds 12th). I was wading on the sand around the bridge lights on the island side flicking a Gulp 2" Sardine Minnow on a 1/8th 1/0 jighead. Everytime it hit the water it was massacred by 15 to 25cm Tailor. Finally I put a 5" jerkshad in the same colour on and it actually reached the bottom. Two jigs later and I had a nice 46cm flathead.
About 5.30am I switched to the mainland side and wandered either side of the older oyster jetty. Picked up plenty of Pike on the plastics and finally a decent 55 cm flathead on a Gulp 3" Pumpkinseed Minnow Grub. Waters getting cool the Bream should be firing up in the passage shortly. Beautiful sunrise this morning but it will be time for the beanie soon.

Bribies been fishing well MM. Had a great session around the pylons last weekend on cod and lizards then braved the wind around buckleys for a few small lizards. Was a few guys wading there and i thought you might have been amongst em. Lots of tailor feasting on the hardiheads around the ledge but looked to be small fish.
    Cheers. Keith
