    Rod capabilities.

    Gday boys. i recently brought a tld 2 speed 30 a and matched it to a gary howard g force 7 foot 10-15 kilo rod... ill be chasing sharks, mackarel, small marlin and bottom bouncing.. wats your thoughts fellas.. im running 50 pound mono by the way thanks lads

    I am sure it will be OK, but you are running almost twice the recomended strength line on it, but plenty do a lot worse than that.

    Saw a short doco on rod blanks on discovery the other night. If the rod breaks in splinters it was a good one, if the snap is clean right through, the blank was rubbish.:grin: Not much help I know. :rolleyes:

    I have used that reel for over 10 years now with 50lb Finns and it is in a word Awesome.
