    Does that help your theory?

I thought the olive spotted one might be a better go given the colour of the water
    Thanks Paul.

Theory is around 'natural' colours in gin clear water up to 3m deep in low light conditions (early morn and late arvo).

Barra have damn good eysight and a stalled Xrap on a long pause has accounted for quite a few fish recently.

We were most successful with glass ghost (white), bunker (olive with spots), olive green and silver. We think gold and ayu would work just as well.

Water will only get clearer leading up to the CM. We plan to give these colours a good run...

    Look forward to catching up...

Nath.......so true....fish in the boat...I will get better at this video thing. Looking forward to catching up with you next month.

Prinny....yes it was a teflon style trip. Was never going to go if my spotty kept playing up but I managed to fix her myself so all good and thunderbirds were GO, The tow point failure...well you get that but I should have checked everything not just for scuffing on the leader. See ya in June mate if not before. Vinesh is the good brother....not like that destructo grasshopper Navi:grin::grin: Vin is normally the victim so we had no dramas. The common denominator of mayhem was missing this time.

Whitto....did you get done you poor bugger:cry:?? I saw him but no dramas...towing the Chariot and driving the Paj keeps me well below the limit. As Gaz says (who sold me the Paj), it's like two tonnes of screaming metal shaped like a brick....a flying lounge chair. I'll see you for sure at the CM. I didn't think you were a starter but glad you are Greg.

Pete....totally agree with your theory. I have a jointed Rap in that olive colour but stuck to the 12s. It's only thanks to your report and some comments from Matty and others that I even gave the X a run...was planning on running Bombers, 52s and Stiffy's otherwise. Definitely looking forward to catching up with you and Kyle.

    Cheers

Not nice Deano - I'm the 1 that normally cops trebles in the head:angry:. Paul's lucky his boat is 18+ foot or owners would have been dangling off his &%$#@. Paul can vouch for Vin's deadly casting  .

Not bad report Paul - for a Journo!!!

Sounds like you guys did better than most. Shame bout the footage but not surprising - tosser:shocked: .

Glad you finally 'officially' christened the Chariot mate.

I'm in for next month Ren - it will be 6 mths since last trip so will be good to catch up with all the Mondy boys.

That's good stuff Paul, great report and bloody good pictures.

Nice fish that 113 mate, pity about the other one but as you know shite happens.

I'll crank up the Mondy Cup Scoresheet and record your catch.

Now what about Vin's 98cm fish do you have a picture of it on a brag mat so i can record his fish as well??

Looking forward to the C.M. could be some very good fish about.

    Cheers,

    John.

Great read Paul and photos. We wish the video worked as well as it would have been great viewing. Well done to both on you on landing fish. Checking your line is an easy one to forget but an important one. Its surprising how much it can get knocked around just on a bite.

Christened???? You mean that Vin graced the deck for the first time???

Remember I am not too bad at shooting video....you already know that you star in some archival footage I have.....but vision of you launching turtle torpedos might put some off their dinner:shocked:

You are in for next month Washington. Your brother better be too.

Too right I can vouch for his casting.....he flays that rod about like he is Edward Scissorhands at a party balloon convention  Fortunately I know when to duck and weave.

    Thanks Richard.

Nagg and I discussed the tow point issue this morning, and I agree with him that some of those split ring connections can be sharper than what they appear.

I am either going to ditch the front split or add a solid ring to it, but don't know what that might do to lure action.

Re: Mondy Hit & Run Mission - Hit & Miss

    Paul,

For Xraps we have removed the split ring from the tow point altogether as part of our mod, and tied our loop knot directly to the lure with no negative impact on the action.

    This could resolve the issue..
