I tore my old and new net in the Logan yesterday - pretty sure my new net was a victim of the "snag" if my information is correct

After 30 mins of dodgy net repair managed to end up with something to throw and got half a bucket - also got very wet with the passing showers. Not my best day out!

Thanks mate. yeah from what I read and experienced. The 'snag' may be responsible for other victims nets apart from those who have reported it.

At least you managed to get a feed.

I'm still waiting for Pero to repair, and reshape net what was salvaged.

Yeah I agree that MSQ should have a isolated danger marker place over it, unfortunately its not a navigational hazard for vessels only for cast netters like everyone on this forum.

Maybe someone can put a petition in. What say?

I'll second that, to appease the powers that be, might have to inform MSQ otherwise they may remove it, also might be a good idea to get MSQ to put a notice to mariners about the snag.

how about you all just don't throw your nets there? in one hand you have a $300 net in the other you have a bucket of banana prawns, thats what i weigh up and after losing a net in the logan already, i now won't go past marks rocks.

Yip. It's all about prawns. One way to save ur nets is b4 it reaches the bottom. hold the net back. But then you will catch less prawns

As a for a bouy - ur kidding rite. Pero wouldn't be too happy as he will have less net sales. . I can see Bondy number 4 soon

prawn fever *sigh* i just got over mine but i'm sure it's still in the system and i'll get another bout of it next year. makes grown men do silly things. good luck with the net building stan we will have to share a few ideas before next season.
