Edward River -Who has fished it before??
Hi All,
As the title suggests heading to the edward river on sunday this week for a week long power mission.. Was originally heading to lakefield national park for the week but the gods have shined on us. I received a phone call this arvo and we now have the chance to fish the Edward and stay on a private property on its banks. Stoked to be given this chance but have no idea what to expect. Fished Maapoon for 4 weeks last year so not totally unfamilar with the western cape but as we all know.. You can never be over prepared and at the moment I am feeling a little overwhelmed and under prepared on what to take..
Wondering if anyone has fished this river before and if so what to expect.. As i am flying in to cairns from brissie sunday arvo really unsure on what i should take up..
What techniques worked for you? what didn't? Christ what is the the river suited to.. any spots that would be better to hit then others..
Any help would be wicked..
thanks
Andy

I have fished the creeks either side of the aborignal community, they are very shallow around the mouths. I have not ventured further north to the edward river but i asume shallow lures would work well. eg bombers, nills spearheads, flatz rats, scorpions and barra classics etc. We found barra where feeding of the change of water, on the edge of the brown water.
