    Pine River Bulls

    How ya goin guys,
this sunday im going to head down to the pine river and test out my new tld 30.. i know its a pretty big reel ( i brought it for big sharks and tuna ) but id like to have a crack at some bulls down there. ive fished there many times for bream and such and done alright but have never personnally come across a shark.. im open to any ideas. and im taking a mate down ( a non-fisho ) in hope of converting him lol. i remeber the fraser island sharking for things like hammerheads is brilliant.. but the bulls are what id like him to see. they are a beautfiul fish. ive got some pre made traces of wire and 11/0 hooks.. im thinkng about going and getting buying myself some fresh mullet of about 30cm.. or maybe even try and catch a catfish.. no idea where in the pine to get one though as ive never caught one there...
thanks allot guys any help you could provide would be amazing..
    cheers,
    Mark

Mate if you want bulls then the Pine delivers. They'll be slower this time of year, but have got them in the past. I'm assuming you're boat based? If so, can't go past the mouth of Bald Hills creek. Definitely go with fresh whole mullet if you can get hold of em...catties aren't the greatest in my experience. Keep the mullet unpierced so the crabs and vermin don't eat em out. Fish the bottom. Night time preferable, but can get em in the day. Don't strike em too early, let em have a couple before hurting em. Your 30 will handle most of em in there on its head. make sure your hooks are sharp and your trace is insulated. Let us know how you go mate.

    Re: Pine River Bulls

If you put in at DWB head straight up the river towards Dohles Rocks/Hornibrook highway (towards the bay) Bald Hills Creek is quite a substantial tributary on the right hand side as you head toward the bay and bridges, you won't miss it. If you're still not sure check out google earth/maps.
